A: Currently the MSD Capital team is approximately seventy people.

A: We are the exclusive manager of his personal capital.

Q: What is your relationship with Dell Inc.?
A: We have no connection to Dell Inc. other than through Mr. Dell.

Q: What kind of investments do you make?
A: MSD Capital has a very broad mandate. We currently specialize in:

• Value-based, public investing;
• Traditional private equity investing;
• Distressed debt investing;
• Investing in real estate; and
• Convertible bond investing.

Q: What is your investment strategy?
A: We seek out investments that have the opportunity to provide superior returns over a long time horizon. For public investments, we tend to look for companies that have been overlooked or under-appreciated by the broader market and have the ability to outperform expectations for a number of years. On the private side, we invest in industry leaders with strong cash flows in partnership with world-class management teams.

Q: What industries do you focus on?
A: We tend to be opportunistic in our approach to investing. As such, we select individual deals on their own merits and do not concentrate our investments in any particular industry.

Q: How large is your capital base? How has it performed?
A: As a private investment firm with no outside investors, we do not disclose financial information related to either the size of our portfolio or the performance of our investments.

Q: Do you manage money other than Mr. Dell's?
A: No. We exclusively manage Mr. Dell's personal capital.
